Catherine is an LIV Accredited Specialist in Family Law.  With over 20 years experience as a solicitor, she is well equipped to ensure that her clients make informed decisions in all aspects of family law.  Also, as family law can impact upon so many aspects of a person's life, Catherine also assists her clients in other areas of personal law including Wills and Estate disputes.  

 

Catherine works closely with her clients during what is often a difficult and stressful time in their lives. Her approach is to aim to achieve the desired outcome for her clients in the quickest, most cost effective manner whilst being conscious of the importance of minimising the emotional trauma often associated with the breakdown of relationships and resolving financial and parenting issues. 

Where appropriate, to assist her clients to negotiate their own settlement, Catherine advises on the most suitable Alternative Dispute Resolution method to use - whether or not court proceedings have already commenced. These include mediation, arbitration and collaborative lawyering. 

If litigation is necessary, Catherine is experienced in conducting all manner of court proceedings including complex financial and parenting cases. She focuses on driving the court process to an effective outcome for her clients. 

 

Catherine also assists her clients to prepare Financial Agreements which can include what are commonly known as "Pre Nuptial Agreements" which are available to engaged and married couples as well as those in de facto relationships. 

 

Catherine acts for a variety of clients based in city areas, country, interstate and overseas. She also acts as a local agent for interstate and overseas family law firms.  She has established a large network of professionals in related areas to whom she can refer her clients with confidence, where appropriate.
